The Company carries out its social responsibility by conducting Income Generating Activity (IGA) programs. To date, through its IGA programs the Company has helped 6,394 households to own small oil palm plantations as a source of additional income. These 6,394 IGA program participant households, covering an area of 11,790 hectares, consist of 358 Farmers’ Groups in 67 villages throughout Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Through the IGA program, loans have been channeled in the form of 1,715,697 oil palm seedlings with a value of Rp 29,055,433,000.
During 2009, the Company conducted training for farmers’ groups participating in the IGA program to increase the participants’ knowledge of technical aspects of oil palm cultivation and of organization.
