Building Self-Reliance in Times of Crisis

Our commitment to sustainable development will be manifested through the implementation of environmentally friendly production processes and operations, responsible energy consumption, and the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in a sustainable manner.

According to The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), CSR is defined as “... a business’s commitment to contribute to sustainable economic development, working with employees, their families, the local community, and society at large to improve their quality of life.” In order to implement CSR effectively, we must strive to achieve a balance of economic, environmental, and social performance (triple bottom line). This triple bottom line forms the basis on which a sustainable business can be developed in accordance with stakeholders’ expectation.

This report is intended to serve as a medium through which key stakeholders may evaluate our CSR performance throughout 2008. Thus, this report is an integral part of our commitment to transparency and accountability and includes a full and balanced disclosure, through which we acknowledge both our successes and shortcomings.
